Matthias Kaiser: "7ways of air alienation", Zhu Wenbo :"church"
Sun Yizhou, Zhu Wenbo and Zhao Cong are highly respected representatives of the Beijing improvised/experimental/electronic scene. Each of them follows his/her own genuine approach using all kinds of instruments, electronics, objects and homemade devices. In addition to their artistic work, they curate concerts and publish cds and cassettes on their own labels.This is the first time they are touring in Europe. Tan Shuoxin was born in Beijing and lives in Cologne, focusing on algorithmic acoustics, sound ontology and lacanian topology. She has been studying epistemic media at imm, Düsseldorf.
Simon Rummel is a Cologne based sound artist. He is the founder of his own ensemble and plays viola, piano, church organ and harmonium, documenting the influence of church music on his work. He has also been developing microtonal soundsystems that lead him to construct sound sculptures and sonic installations.
Thilo Schoelpen is a Duesseldorf based composer and musician. His work includes compositions for solo piano and playing free improvised music. He also integrates feedback caused by objects as a source for live performing.
Matthias Kaiser lives in Cologne. Musical focus on free improvised music, sometimes developing graphic and verbal scores for unrestricted organisation of sound.?This concert is the result of building a delicate bridge between European and Chinese soundartists.
